Melissa is Managing Director, Media, of Accenture Song (world's largest tech-powered creative group), leading the media capability in APAC.

 

Formerly, Melissa was CEO of IPG’s Initiative Australia, a full-service global media agency. Under Melissa’s tenure, Mel led the most significant business transformation in Initiative’s history, taking the agency to global fame and becoming the world’s most awarded global media agency for the work created, the talent , the culture and significant business & client growth.

 

Previous roles include CEO of brand and creative agency, Ensemble, Network Ten Executive leading the Integrated Marketing / Sponsorship / Content division, Launching WPP’s ESP in Australia (the global entertainment and sports partnerships group), Commercial Director at Viacom for 6 years including tenure at the NYC HQ and 5 years at News Corp in sport and travel.
Melissa is currently a Director on the Swimming Australia board, recently re-appointed for a second term. Mel previously held Director roles on the Media Federation of Australia Board and Cancer Chicks board.

 

Melissa also holds numerous Advisory roles for industry events / conferences’, a member of the National LGBTQ Executive Allies Forum and YPO, the global leadership community of extraordinary chief executives.
Mel has led pro-bono work for AIME, UN Women Australia, Gotcha4Life and HeartKids, and driving industry change with campaigns such as “Beyond 3%”, all driving record breaking awareness levels and donations for all partners involved.

 

Melissa has numerous personal accolades including 2023 ‘CEO of the Year’ at The CEO Magazine’s ‘Executive of the Year’ Awards, 2023 ‘CEO of the Year’, Campaign Asia Women Leading Change, 2022 Woman of the Year (B&T) and Industry leader of the year (Mumbrella).
